Sigiriya Rock Fortress & National Park Safari (Minneriya, Kaudulla Or Eco Park)
First we'll take you to Sigiriya Rock Fortress or Lion Rock, which is one of the most visited tourist destinations and most recognizable landmarks in Sri Lanka. The remains of a royal palace sit on top of the 200 meter high rock overlooking the ancient fortress city. The way up is decorated with beautiful 1000 year old frescoes and at the top you'll be rewarded with incredible views over the surrounding mountains and lakes.
Then in the early afternoon you'll go on a safari to either Minneriya, Kaudulla or Eco Park – depending which part the big herds are at. The area is known as the best area to spot large herds of wild elephants in Sri Lanka. You'll go in to the park in a jeep (with driver) that can fit up to 8 people.
