Day Excursions – A Trip Outside Our Piece Of Paradise

Kalpitiya is an amazing place with lots of history. We can organize trips to the ancient city of Anuradhapura and Sigiriya as well show you around Kalpitiya itself. Kalpitiya is also one of the few places you can witness the largest marine mammal the Blue Whale and then the largest land animal; the Elephant within a matter of hours! Take a taxi, take a bus, take a bicycle and explore!

Wilpattu National Park is one of the largest and oldest National Parks. It’s home to leopards, elephants, bear, crocodiles, birds, and many more exotic animals. In a jeep (with a driver) that can fit up to 8 people you'll go into the park to spot as many of these incredible animals as you can.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Sigiriya Rock Fortress or Lion Rock, is on of the most visited tourist destinations and most recognizable landmarks in Sri Lanka. The remains of a royal palace sit on top of the 200 meter high rock overlooking the ancient fortress city. The way up is decorated with beautiful frescoes and at the top you'll be rewarded with incredible views over the surrounding mountains and lakes.

First, you'll visit the 1st Capital and Ancient Royal City of Anuradhapura which is famous for its temples, palace dagobas, well-preserved ruins and the sacred Bo tree; Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. Then in the early afternoon you'll climb up the mountain peak of Mihintale near Anuradhapura. Mihintale is believed to be the origin of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and the temple at the top of the mountain is a popular pilgrimage site.

Our lagoon is great for absolute beginners and advanced riders alike and we provide courses for all levels from beginner lessons to advanced coaching in many languages : French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, Sinhalese.

At the end of your internship you will receive an IKO card indicating your level, this card allows you to continue your progress and rent equipment in any kite school in the world.

Other Activities

There's plenty to do without even having to leave the camp! We have a mini spa in our camp where you can get a shiatsu massage, or you can join us for a yoga class on the yoga deck. We are happy to arrange sightseeing tours for you. We can also arrange National Park safaris, or dolphin and whale watching tours, as well as diving in the winter season.
