Anuradhapura Ancient City & Dambulla Cave Temples

First, you'll visit the ancient royal city of Anuradhapura which is famous for its temples, palace dagobas, well-preserved ruins and the sacred fig tree; Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. Anuradhapura is still an active temple and place of worship. Both the local population and visitors from abroad come here every weekend to pray and make a special offerings with fruits and lotus flowers.

Then we'll take you to see the Dambulla Cave Temples. Five seperate caves contain over 150 beautiful Buddha statues and paintings., including some of Sri Lanka's most important religious art. The Dambulla Cave Temples sit about 160 meters above the road and from the cave you can even see Sigirya Rock in the distance!

Monkeys roam around in both locations which is a lot of fun, just make sure you hide food and valuables away as the monkeys tend to try and steal them. Anuradhapura and Dambulla are park in the Central Province, about a 3 and a half hour drive from KSL
