Mini Vella — compact, protected, progression-focused

Mini Vella is a compact flat-water kite spot located just 15 minutes by boat from the KSL lagoon in Kalpitiya. Often described as a smaller alternative to Vella Island, it delivers similar butter-flat conditions in a more sheltered and easily accessible setting.

Protected by a natural sandbank, Mini Vella offers smooth, steady water with minimal chop — ideal for controlled progression, technical training, and long, consistent runs. The compact layout makes it easier to orient yourself compared to larger lagoon systems, while still providing enough space for comfortable riding.

Mini Vella is particularly attractive for riders who want flat-water performance conditions without committing to the longer Vella Island transfer.

Note: Confident upwind and downwind riding skills are required. Our rescue boat remains on standby throughout the session.
