Kalpitiya’s largest lagoon for kitesurfing

Kalpitiya Lagoon is the main kite spot where our kite school operates. Just 10 minutes from camp, it’s a spacious playground with enough room for riders of all levels. Depending on wind direction, conditions range from smooth to gusty and flat to choppy — offering both a challenge and reward.

The lagoon has a designated beginner zone used for lessons, while advanced riders have plenty of space to explore. During the summer season, you can kite from KSL to the lagoon, and in winter, enjoy a scenic ride back to camp.

What to Expect

• Spacious riding area (approx. 1 km wide x 2 km long)

• Wind variety depending on the season and direction

• Beginner-friendly zone (designated area for lessons)

• Free transport twice daily from KSL

• Beach hut access with water dispensers and drinks for purchase

• Optional lunch delivery for mid-day sessions

• Downwinder route between camp and lagoon (seasonal)
