How long does it take to learn kitesurfing?

Sunscreen
Even on cloudy days, UV radiation in Sri Lanka is intense. Bring SPF 50+ sun protection, or grab our organic zinc sunblock from the KSL Kite Shop—reef-safe and designed for long water sessions.
Rashguard
A long-sleeve rashguard or shirt protects your skin from harness rub, board scratches, and sun exposure—especially during long sessions. You’ll find our funky KSL rashguards at the Kite Shop.
Hat
You’ll wear a helmet during your lessons, but a hat is essential for time off the water. It helps protect your face and head from the sun while you’re on the beach or watching sessions.
Sunglasses
In your first lessons, you’ll spend a lot of time looking up at your kite—and into the sun. If you have sensitive eyes, we recommend wearing sunglasses with a secure strap. Water-repellent sunglasses are also available in our Kite Shop.
Water bottle
Stay hydrated! You’ll find water dispensers at the beach and around the camp. Reusable bottles are available in your room and at the Kite Shop—perfect for refilling throughout the day.
