We Are Hiring: IKO Kite Instructors for Winter 2026/27 in Kalpitiya
Looking for a kite instructor job somewhere warm this winter?
Kitesurfing Lanka is hiring IKO-certified Kite Instructors for our winter season in Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka, from mid-December 2026 to mid-March 2027.
You’ll be joining an international team and spending the season teaching on the lagoons of Kalpitiya, working with riders from their first kite lesson through to more advanced skills.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for instructors who are confident teachers, take safety seriously and enjoy working with people from different countries and backgrounds.
You should have:
- A valid IKO Instructor certification
- Previous kiteboarding teaching experience
- A professional and safety-focused approach
- Good English communication skills
- A friendly, positive and team-oriented attitude
French and/or German is a strong advantage.
Your role at KSL
As part of the kite school team, you’ll teach beginner to advanced kiteboarding according to IKO standards and help guests progress safely on the water.
The job also includes the practical side of running a busy kite school: preparing and maintaining equipment, assisting with launching and landing, monitoring wind and lagoon conditions and helping with daily kite school operations.
Good guest service matters just as much as good teaching. For many students, you’ll be the person they spend most of their time with during their first days of kitesurfing.
A winter season in Kalpitiya
KSL is based in Kandakuliya on the Kalpitiya Peninsula, between the lagoon and the Indian Ocean. During the winter kite season, our team works with guests from around the world while living and working alongside an international crew.
It’s a social place, but also a working kite school. We’re looking for instructors who want to be part of the team for the season and contribute both on and off the water.
