Whether you want to travel the world from one windy spot to the other, add another qualification to your resume or pick up some teaching jobs, the IKO Training Courses are your stepping stone to becoming an internationally recognized kite instructor.

IKO has set the standard for kitesurfing to deliver courses and certification on a global scale. In order to become a kitesurfing instructor, you must successfully complete a First Aid course, Assistant Instructor training and Instructor Level 1 training.

At Kitesurfing Lanka we offer intense training sessions where you can complete all three certifications back to back, or you can only sign up for one or two of them.

 

In 2020 the training sessions will be held:

First set: 1 March – 11 March
Second set: 12 May – 22 May
Third set: 23 September – 3 October

 

 

1. Medical First Aid course

All instructors must have a current first aid certification.

Duration: 1-day course

Prerequisites: N/A

Dates: 6 March, 17 May, 28 September

2. Assistant Instructor

This course is designed to prepare the candidates for the Instructor Course.

Duration: 5 days

Prerequisites: Kiteboarder Level 4 or equivalent riding level, the minimum age is 16 years old.

Dates: 1 – 5 March, 12 – 16 May, 23 – 27 September

3. Instructor Level 1

This course is designed for Assistant Instructors to become Instructors.

Duration: 5 days

Prerequisites: Assistant Instructor and valid First Aid certificate, the minimum age is 18 years old.

Dates: 7 – 11 March, 18 – 22 May, 29 September – 3 October
